Dogway Melody – 1930 MGM “Dogville” Short

By Jim Navary, December 11, 2011

From 1929 to 1931, MGM Studios developed a series of short films featuring parodies of popular films from that time period. These films in the “Dogville” series were shot with all characters portrayed by canine “actors”. They are all quite amusing films and, in some scenes, downright laugh-out-loud funny.

Here, we present the film “Dogway Melody”, made in 1930. It is a parody of the film Broadway Melody.  It’s about 16 1/2 minutes long — well worth the time. Film is from Turner Classic Movies.
